Reading Eggs is a proven online reading and maths program that grows with your child from ages 2 to 13. Created by education experts and grounded in the Science of Reading, it teaches phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, spelling, and early maths skills through interactive, self-paced lessons. One subscription includes six programs for up to four children.
Reading Eggs and Mathseeds provide a complete reading, phonics, and early maths curriculum. For other subjects like science and social studies, most homeschool families pair Reading Eggs with additional resources. The Reading Eggspress Library includes non-fiction titles across science and social studies topics, which many families use for cross-curricular reading.
Reading Eggs covers ages 2 to 13 (approximately PreK through Grade 5) for reading and phonics. Mathseeds covers early maths for ages 3 to approximately Year 3. Six programs are included: Reading Eggs Junior (2–4), Reading Eggs (3–7), Fast Phonics (5–10), Reading Eggspress (7–13), Mathseeds (3–9), and Mathseeds Prime (8–11).
Just 15 minutes a day is all it takes. That's typically one lesson: short enough to fit into a busy homeschool schedule and long enough to make real progress. Consistent daily practice is what drives results.
Reading Eggs is a structured curriculum, not a gaming app. Every activity, including the ones that feel like games to your child, teaches specific reading or maths skills in a proven, structured sequence. The program is built on the Science of Reading and backed by independent research: 93% of children improve by at least one whole reading level in just six weeks. It's kidSAFE certified and completely ad-free.
The free trial gives your child 30 days of full access to all six programs: Reading Eggs Junior, Reading Eggs, Fast Phonics, Reading Eggspress, Mathseeds, and Mathseeds Prime — for up to four children. Your child can take the placement test, start lessons and access the full library (4000+ e-books!) during the trial.
The placement test is a short set of questions with clear audio instructions. It evaluates your child's current reading and maths level and matches them to the right starting lesson. You can reset the test or manually adjust your child's level at any time through the family dashboard.
Yes. One subscription covers up to four children, each with their own profile and personalised learning path. They can all work at their own level, at the same time, on any device.
Reading Eggs works on web browsers (desktop and laptop), iPad, iPhone, Android tablets and Android phones. Your children can switch between devices and pick up where they left off anytime.
Homeschool Max is the premium subscription that includes everything in the standard Reading Eggs & Mathseeds subscription, plus teacher-level tools designed to give you more control: a Homeschool Dashboard for assigning lessons and books, detailed progress reports aligned to your state standards, read-aloud recording and access to our exclusive Teacher Toolkit with curriculum guides and printable resources.
The standard subscription gives you the full reading and maths curriculum with parent-level progress tracking. Homeschool Max gives you full control over how your child moves through the curriculum: assign lessons and books, unlock state-aligned curriculum reporting, fluency recordings, and other exclusive teacher resources. If you want more structure and more control over your child's learning, Homeschool Max is the upgrade for you.
The family dashboard shows lessons completed, books read, quiz scores, estimated reading age, and skills mastered for each child. You'll also receive progress reports via email when your child completes map assessments. Homeschool Max users get additional state-aligned curriculum reporting for portfolio use and state reporting.
Many homeschool families use progress reports and printable certificates as part of their portfolio documentation. Homeschool Max provides more detailed, state-aligned curriculum reports that may be particularly useful for state compliance. Check your state's specific requirements to confirm what documentation is accepted.
You can reset the placement test or manually adjust your child's level at any time through the family dashboard. If you need help, our homeschool support team is available via live chat or email.
You can cancel at any time through your account settings. If you're on a free trial, cancel before the trial period ends to avoid being charged. For ESA-funded subscriptions, contact our support team for assistance.
